What time of year is best for a foreign collector to see an artist's work in Brasília?

No month is closed to a viewing: Perfeito Studio has no open studio, and part of the collection is on view at INTI in Lago Sul, by appointment. The calendar changes the trip, not access. Brasília's dry season runs May to September and the rainy season October to April, so the choice is heavy rain or very dry air.

First, what there is to visit

The question assumes an artist's studio you can walk into. At Perfeito Studio that does not exist: there is no separate gallery and no open showroom. What does exist is part of the collection on view at INTI, at St. de Habitações Individuais Sul QI 11, Deck Brasil, Lago Sul, Brasília - DF, 71625-240. INTI is a working clinic, so a viewing is arranged directly with the artist over WhatsApp and is never walk-in.

That changes how to think about season. There is no studio calendar to plan around; you choose a week to be in Brasília and then ask for a time. Confirm any date with the studio before booking flights.

The two seasons

Brasília has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen Aw), with a rainy season from October to April and a dry season from May to September. The wettest month is November, with 253.1 mm on average; the driest is July, with 1.5 mm.

For a viewing indoors, rain is mostly a logistical matter, so it is worth leaving margin around a fixed time.

The dry months have their own cost

Late in the dry season the air gets very dry. In early September 2024, Brazil's national meteorology institute, Inmet, issued an orange alert for the Federal District with relative humidity forecast between 12% and 20%, and advised drinking more fluids, avoiding exercise and sun at the hottest hours, and using skin moisturiser and humidifying rooms. Wikipedia's climate summary notes that humidity can fall below 30% in the dry season.

None of this stops a viewing. It does mean that a collector arriving in August or September should plan for dry air, and one arriving in January should plan for storms.

How to choose a window

A practical order of questions: when can you actually travel, how much margin do you want against rain, and how flexible is the appointment. If a trip to Brazil is already fixed for other reasons, ask for a viewing around it rather than moving the trip. If it is not fixed, the season matters less than leaving a few days of slack, because the appointment has to be agreed with the artist and fit a working clinic.

If no trip is planned, the studio also sends detail photographs and video of a specific work on request. See what a virtual studio visit looks like and whether to buy in person or remotely.

From the studio

A note from the studio on seeing a work in different light

When I hang or photograph a textured surface, I see it change through the day. On Amber Strata (150 × 100 cm, Terra & Ether, 2026), flecks of warm gold catch the light at irregular intervals, so the work reads differently as the light in a room moves. If you come to see it, ask for a time of day that suits the work, and ask me for detail photographs beforehand.

Frequently asked

What time of year is best for a foreign collector to see an artist's work in Brasília?

No season is closed, since viewings are arranged by appointment rather than on a studio calendar. Brasília's dry season runs May to September and the rainy season October to April, so the real difference is heavy rain versus very dry air. Choose the dates that suit your trip and confirm them with the studio over WhatsApp before booking travel.

Can I visit the studio itself?

There is no open studio or separate gallery. Part of the collection is on view at INTI, in Lago Sul, Brasília, and a viewing is arranged directly with the artist over WhatsApp. INTI is a working clinic, so visits are scheduled rather than walk-in. Ask the studio for the details of the appointment.

Does this differ for a US buyer versus a European buyer?

The climate and the appointment process are the same for everyone. What differs is travel time and the seasons you are used to, since Brazil's dry season falls in the northern hemisphere's summer and early autumn. A foreign buyer should still confirm a viewing date with the studio before booking flights.

Who arranges the viewing in practice?

The artist arranges it directly with you over WhatsApp. There is no gallery intermediary and no booking page. Tell her which work interests you and the dates you will be in Brasília, and the time is agreed directly, keeping in mind that INTI is a working clinic.

What if I cannot travel to Brasília at all?

Additional detail photographs and video of a specific work are sent on request through the same WhatsApp channel. A remote look does not replace seeing the surface in person, but it lets you judge texture and scale before deciding whether a trip is worth making.
